-staying true to what makes sense for me
-surrendering, daily
-discipline
-creating a cozy beautiful space for myself
-more sun
-full course, filet mignon, and wine on a random Tuesday at 2pm because I can
-African novels
-exploring (the world, my backyard, my mind, the depths of relationship)
2025 update:
I’m 35 now, and things feel a bit different. If I didn’t know any better, I would say that I woke up the morning of my birthday last year with an immediate increase in wisdom, knowledge, and deep understanding of myself. If I were naive, I’d say that whatever I know to be true for myself now was all my own doing. Thankfully, I know that whatever “growth” I can stake claim to is only partially attributed to my curiosity or ambition. In reality, family established my foundation, friends have shaped my world, relationships have challenged and morphed my identity and knowledge of self to usher me into my present-day refinement—my here and now. And if I’m blessed with more time, I know I will continue to change and morph and refine and shed.
What does a beautiful life look like for me today? a life steeped in the knowledge of Gods grace — living one moment at a time— taking deeper breaths and longer walks— allowing radical acceptance (of self and others) to forge new paths in my heart and mind— and the daily, subtle declaration of surrendering to love.
I’m still doing everything I mentioned before but with more forgiveness, more gentleness, more love.
How are you creating your beautiful life?
always love,
boom
